The JMA/JEA Expo Committee, is hereafter referred to as the Expo Secretariat. The applicant,
is hereafter referred to as the exhibitor.
PAYMENT TERMS
1.1 Contracts must be signed by the authorized signatories and returned to the Expo Secretariat by the following deadlines:
December 31, 2007, along with a 50% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT.
FINAL PAYMENT is due February 28, 2008, non-payment will result in booth(s) reassignment.
Booth requests AFTER February 28, 2008 will have an additional 10% late registration fee to the basic rate
FULL PAYMENT received on or before December 31, 2007, will attract a 10% discount on the full cost of the booth(s).

1.3 All cheques shall be made payable to JMA/JEA EXPO.
ALLOCATION OF BOOTH SPACE
2.1 The Expo Secretariat reserves the right to allocate booth space. Locations cannot be
changed or transferred without the permission of the Expo Secretariat.
2.2 The Exhibitor is not permitted to lend, sublet or exchange booths with third party or another exhibitor.
2.3 Subject to availability Exhibitors will not be allowed to request more than 3 booths.
SITE & BOOTH INFORMATION
3.1 National Arena
Booth construction must conform to the size specified 10 ft x10 ft or multiples thereof and no higher than 9 ft. The Expo Secretariat reserves the right to reject any booth if considers unsafe or otherwise hazardous to the public. Booths must not encroach on aisle space or adjoining booths.
3.2 Provision is only available for the use of running water for booths located on the ground floor at the north side. Exhibitors requiring this facility should advise us accordingly. There are limited number of booths in this area.
3.3 Exhibitors are not allowed to damage or deface the arena in any way.
3.4 Exhibitors are not allowed to erect any signs or banners outside their allotted area.
3.5 Booth construction costs will be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. The Exhibitor should submit booth design by February 1, 2008, if in doubt of acceptability.
3.6 Booths must be constructed by 12:00 midnight on April 30, 2008 and disassembled and reclaimed by the Exhibitor on May 5, 2008. Construction will start at noon April 28, 2008. Only fully paid Exhibitors will be issued construction passes prior to April 28, 2008.
SCOPE OF EXHIBITS
4.1 Products/services must be manufactured/provided within Jamaica. If there is any doubt, this should be cleared with the Expo Secretariat in writing. Any product or service that does not meet the requirements will be removed.
4.2 Exhibitors using any excessive amount of appliances or electrical gadgets, as determined by the Expo Secretariat will be charged a fee according to the items for additional electricity.
4.3 Exhibits shall be limited to the items that the Exhibitor trades or produces. The following items shall not be allowed:
• Weapons, guns inflammables, explosives, poisons, radioactive material/products, contrabands.
• Items that may infringe on the patent or design rights of other products will be prohibited.
4.4 Exhibitors are required to keep their area clean. In the case where products are being
sampled, adequate garbage bins should be provided by the Exhibitor.
ADMISSION
5.1 Each Exhibitor will be provided with five (5) non-transferable exhibitor armbands and one (1) VIP pass for each booth space. Booth representatives must wear armbands at all times. Additional armbands may be purchased at the following cost:
V.I.P. - $3,000.00 each
General - $600.00 each
5.2 Exhibitor armbands are for the exclusive use of the company personnel. Misuse of bands will result in confiscation by Security.
5.3 JMA/JEA Expo ’08 will be open to Buyers ONLY on Thursday May 1, 2008 and Friday, May 2 at 9:00 a.m. up to 4:00 p.m. The show will then be opened to the PUBLIC on Friday May 2, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Saturday May 3 and Sunday May 4, 2008 the show will open at noon to the public and close at 9:00 p.m. (Note: this could be subjected to change)
COMPLIANCE
6.1 The Exhibitor shall assume all responsibility for compliance with all pertinent ordinances, regulations, and codes of duly authorized governing bodies concerning fire, safety and health, together with the rules and regulations of the operator and owner of the property wherein the trade fair is being held. In the best interest of the trade fair, the Expo Secretariat shall have full power to interpret, amend and enforce all rules and regulations.
BASIC SERVICES
7.1 The following basic services will be provided:
A 110 volt 50 cycle single-phase electricity terminal outlet will be provided to each booth, first aid station, fire safety, garbage disposal, information booth, daily cleaning of common areas, adequate security, public telephone call boxes (within the Arena).
SPECIAL SERVICES
8.1 The following special services may be provided at an extra cost to the Exhibitor:
• Voltage (220). This must be requested along with your application.
• Telephone - individual telephone for a booth can be requested by an Exhibitor directly from Cable and Wireless Jamaica - a contact name and number will be provided as soon as this becomes available. |
